Targeted Coaching

What Is Psychosocial Recovery Coaching?

Psychosocial Recovery Coaching is a tailored service that assists individuals in developing
skills, confidence and independence while moving towards their own personal goals.

Our Approach to Recovery Coaching

Our approach to Recovery Coaching is based upon the participant’s strengths, background, preferences and aspirations. Together, we look at where the participant is currently at, where he/she would like to get to and how best he/she can get there.

“We believe recovery and personal development are different for everyone. Rather than following a standard pathway, we work with you to create an approach that reflects your individual circumstances.”

Our Coaching May Focus On:

Practical & Solution-Driven

Support for Complex Circumstances

Certain individuals face difficulties that may hinder their ability to navigate service provision. Kalliopi Support Services have had the opportunity to work with individuals who may be facing::

Experience in the Justice System

Individuals who currently or previously faced experience with the justice system may need coordinated services in different aspects of their lives. We can assist in identifying the appropriate services, coordinating services, exploring accommodation solutions, and linking the individual with professionals who comprehend the complexity of the situation.

Transition from Incarceration

Being released into the community from incarceration comes with challenges such as housing, health care, employment, daily activities, socializing, and accessing services. We can assist individuals to prioritize and put together pathways for support.

Degenerative Conditions

Individuals suffering from degenerative illnesses could have varying physical, cognitive, emotional or psychosocial needs at different points in time. We can assist in the provision of relevant assistance and link up participants to allied health professionals and others who can meet the evolving needs.

Needs for Mental Health Support

We know that mental health problems can impact different facets of daily living such as relationships, housing, community engagement, activities and independence. Using Psychosocial Recovery Coaching and through our professional contacts, we can assist participants in developing ways to address their own issues and work towards achieving personal goals.

Practical Methodology

Turning Your Goals into Achievable Steps

Occasionally, a long-term goal might be quite intimidating. Dividing it into a series of smaller goals would make it more comprehensible and achievable.

Practical Example:

For instance, an individual who is currently homeless will have many goals that include the acquisition of proper housing, securing employment, working on improving daily habits, and learning how to drive eventually. Instead of doing all these things simultaneously, we can assist in determining which goal is more important right now. Having established stable housing would be the key to forming good habits and taking care of oneself. With more stability in life, it would become easier to move on to employment and driving related goals.

Housing and Accommodation
Support

Getting safe and proper accommodation is a very critical element in the quest for independence. Connections have been made with real estate professionals, accommodation providers and ILO hosts. Our team of Support Coordinators can help participants find the appropriate solutions for their accommodation needs. Where applicable, we can help participants get access to those providing supported accommodation and other accommodation options.

Assistive Technology and Home Modifications

Proper equipment or modification can aid in ensuring safety and accessibility when carrying out daily activities. Using our already existing professional networks, we will be able to help the participants gain access to proper information regarding assistive technology, functional assessments, and home modifications. We have collaborated with experienced mobility experts that aid in conducting assessments, making equipment recommendations, and home modifications depending on the needs of the individual.
